Relatives Acting As Parents Program (RAPP) New Families Welcome

Debbie LaCelle of Bridgeport has been raising her 15 year old grand-son since he was very young.

“It’s a relief to talk with other grandparents who go through similar struggles raising their grandchildren.” Along with that she enjoys the family gatherings where her and her grandson can participate in fun activities with the other families.

Relatives Acting as Parents Program (RAPP) exists to support Onondaga County residents, age 55 or older who are non-parent caregivers of related children age 18 or younger whom they have custody.

RAPP meets twice per month. One session is for caregivers and a second session usually includes a fun family-friendly activity. If you’re interested in learning more about this program please contact Cathy Goldthwait at 470-4375.
