Syracuse Receives JRAP Grant

SHA is one of 18 housing authorities across the country to receive a Juvenile Re-entry Assistance Program (JRAP) grant from the U.S. Departments of Justice and Housing and Urban Development.

Syracuse Housing Authority will partner with the Center for Community Alternatives help young people, age 24 or younger who are coming out of the criminal justice system. The program will help youth, review their record for errors, apply to reinstate drivers licenses, get a job, or go back to school.

It does not erase their criminal record, but it can help young people overcome the barriers they face in becoming self sufficient.
