SHA SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
A number of scholarships are available for Public Housing or Housing Choice Voucher Program residents. Syracuse Housing Authority is proud to assist residents in their efforts to continue their education. Resident Support Services is available to assist residents through scholarship applications or help navigating the complex financial aid and college application process.

Syracuse University Co-Generation Scholarship
Brexialee “Brexi” SHA Resident Scholarship
High School Seniors who live in Syracuse Housing Authority Public Housing or Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) and have been accepted into a College/University to pursue either a Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree or attend a Vocational School. One time award of $5,000.
Applications due February 1, 2024.
SHA Building Dream Scholarship
The Syracuse Housing Authority “Building Dreams” Scholarship provides financial assistance to High School Seniors of Syracuse Housing Authority and the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8). Students must have been accepted into a College/University and plan to pursue either a Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree or attend a Vocational School. One time award of $1,000.
Applications due February 1, 2024.
Todd Eudell Scholarship
The James Geddes neighborhood will always hold a special place in Todd Eudell’s heart. Todd describes a healthy childhood filled with caring neighbors and good friends who looked out for each other. Todd was able to proceed onto college utilizing scholarships along the way to get him through college, leading him to receive his Masters in Human Services from Liberty University. Todd always wanted to give back to the community who raised him and that is seen by the work he does today and by establishing this Scholarship program for youth to come. One time award of up to $500.

PHADA Scholarship Opportunities
Stephen J. Bollinger Memorial Scholarship. One scholarship available for $7,000.
Civil Rights and Social Justice Scholarship. One scholarship available for $5,000.
Nan McKay Pathway to Achievement Scholarship. One scholarship available for $5,000.
Applications due January 26, 2024.
NYSPHADA Scholarship Opportunities
One scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $2,500.00. One runner-up will be awarded $1,000.00.
Applications due February 5, 2024.
HAI Group Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship awards are $6,000 each and are issued to your educational institution before the fall 2024 academic term. A total of 20 scholarships will be awarded. No age or GPA requirement. Must be attending one of the following institutions in the fall of 2024:
- Accredited or licensed technical school
- Two-year college or university
- Four-year college or university
- Master’s degree or PhD program
